What the Critics Say

"Millennial supper club with dazzling bling in décor and drinks. More glitz in ginger salmon, Kobe burgers and truffle deviled eggs."
-Golden Brand, Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards, 2012

"If you love seeafood, set sail for Ocean Prime."
-Terry Matthews, News-Telegram, 10/5/11

"This take on the American supper club delivers food and ambiance, with delectable starters such as crispy ahi tuna tartare and spicy-creamy shrimp with Tabasco sauce. Surf, turf and generous sides to follow, as well as the worth-the-calories chocolate peanut butter pie."
-Dallas Modern Luxury

"With six locations in five states, the upscale chain Ocean Prime deserves at least a sliver of the credit for the mainstreaming of the Prohibition-era cocktail, with its Cucumber Gimlets, Whiskey Clovers and Strawberry Smashes. But its signature show-stopper is still one of its silliest drinks: The Berries & Bubbles. Chunks of dry ice are added to a rich purple mix of citrus vodka, Champagne, marinated berries and house-made sour mix, and the end result is a raucously bubbling brew that's guaranteed to turn heads around the bar. The fruit flavor is intense, the bubbles add texture and the dry ice gives it a strangely intoxicating aroma (and creates ice on the stem). It's pulpy, it's preposterous ... and somehow, it makes perfect sense."

"...around the corner is Table 50.  The hostess smiles as she opens the door to this jewel box:  a glass-enclosed, private dining room for eight that hovers conspicuously above the corner of 15th and Larimer streets.  Having nabbed the restaurant's most coveted table, we're on display.  And so is Denver - our glassy perch affords an unparalleled view of Larimer Street and the downtown bustle.  The vista only gets better when our server slides the windows open, filling the room with sweet spring air."
-Sarah Haughey, 5280 Magazine

"Steak or Seafood? At Ocean Prime, you can have either…or both! Whatever dish you choose, pair it with world-class wines and award-winning, handcrafted cocktails in in a timeless setting with take-your-breath-away service. It’s an extraordinary supper club experience."
-D Magazine

"I applaud Ocean Prime’s resurrection of the classic American supper club. Most new restaurants these days are chef-driven, cozy neighborhood joints. Ocean Prime dares to be big and bold, flaunting its modern steakhouse chic—cobalt blue accents, rich wood tones, and black leather—with sexy swagger. Open less than a year, the Dallas offering from this small, Ohio-based chain packs an appreciative business lunch crowd decked out in its Ralph Lauren best. That shouldn’t be a surprise with the restaurant’s premier Rosewood Court perch, directly  across the street from The Crescent. Prime indeed."
-Todd Johnson
 D CEO, October 2010

"The potatoes au gratin are sure to satisfy every Texan. The medium-cut potatoes are mixed with slices of fresh jalapenos and baked in a creamy cheese sauce."
-D Magazine, 2011

"Ocean Prime takes deviled eggs in a surf-and-turf direction. The steak and seafood restaurant's Truffled Deviled Eggs get an earthy note from white truffle oil. They're topped off with both shaved black truffle and American hackleback caviar; even without the elegant garnishes, this egg is an exotic break from the ordinary."
-Tina Danze
 Dallas Morning News, 2010

"Service was positively gushing and enthusiastic. Several dishes were outstanding. Ocean Prime’s signature appetizer, giant sautéed shrimp served with a piquant and ingratiating Tabasco cream sauce, is a dish for the ages."
-Modern Luxury Dallas, 2010

"The brand-new surf and turf palace in Uptown muscles into the mixology market by employing a lot of ‘tenders behind the thrusting phalanx of a bar, doing original work with fresh ingredients."
-Mr. D.
 Dallas Morning New, 2009

Radar Range: An Early Look at Ocean Prime:
It’s drop-dead gorgeous, this interloper from Columbus, Ohio. Big and brash, with the right mix of sophisticated styling.

“In addition to the delicious cuisine, Ocean Prime’s lively cocktail lounge will feature piano music nightly and 12 signature cocktails, including the popular Berries & Bubbles, which combines Belvedere Cytrus Vodka, marinated blackberries, housemade sour, and Domaine Chandon Brut.”
-Friscosavvy.com

"In the past, I've been seduced by its seafood, but this time I was impressed with its ability to turn out high-quality steaks. The New York strip was the best strip I sampled, and the filet, thicker than most, was lean, yet juicy."
-"Rating the Steakhouses," D Magazine, 2011

“Prime” says it all. From the world class wine list to the extensive menu with a great selection of seafood and steaks, everything at Ocean Prime is of the highest quality.

Ocean Prime embraces the retro elements of a supper club, including warm finished and rich woods, combined with contemporary styled drapery, state-of-the-art lighting and granite bar tops.  Ocean Prime will feature a 900-bottle wine tower, and interior water wall, an energetic cocktail lounge with live piano music nightly, a stunning fireplace, four private rooms and a covered patio terrace with outdoor dining and a bar.
-Pure Magazine, G. B. Martin

Restaurant Buzz:
Looking for primo surf and turf?  Ocean Prime has it covered.  The Modern Supper Cub Go for the ahi tuna tartar with avocado and ginger ponzu—stay for the terrace with its two roaring fireplaces.
-Paper City, Christina Geyer

"****. A well-run operation delivers on its promises of upscale fish and meat."
-The Columbus Dispatch, 2010
